What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It uses XML (as opposed to HTML) and is an easy way to distribute headlines and content from Web sites like Dailyreporter.com. RSS feeds contain headlines and hyperlinks to longer articles or Web pages.

How do I use it?

Desktop software applications known as news readers or aggregators can collect, update and display RSS feeds from a wide variety of sources. Some examples of aggregators include RssReader for the PC or NetNewsWire for the Mac. You can also read RSS feeds through your Web browser with a site like My Yahoo.

To add dailyreporter.com headlines directly to your RSS reader, simply right-click on the orange XML icon and copy and paste the link location into your reader. If you have a My Yahoo page, click on + My Yahoo icon.

With all of the news outlets available on the web these days, it sometimes is difficult to keep up with all of the information that interests you. Wouldn't it be useful to have all of your dailyreporter.com news delivered directly to your desktop as it is updated? Enter the world of RSS.
